Aiyedatiwa condoles Ibadan people over death of Olubadan

Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa

Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has commiserated with the people of Ibadan and the government of Oyo State over the demise of the Olubadan of Ibadan, Lekan Balogun.

Aiyedatiwa who described the deceased monarch as a silent achiever stated that the short period he spent on the throne made Ibadan experience growth and stability.

The governor in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ebenezer Adeniyan, prayed for the repose of the soul of the revered first-class monarch.

“On behalf of the good people of Ondo State, Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has commiserated with the people of Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on the death of the Olubadan, Oba Lekan Balogun,” Adeniyan said.

“Governor Aiyedatiwa also extended his commiserations to the Government of Oyo State and Governor Seyi Makinde on the death of the great monarch.

The Governor said the passing of Ọba Lekan Balogun after two years on the throne is a monumental loss that can only be imagined, describing the late monarch as a silent achiever and lover of peace.

Within a short period of time, he added, Oba Balogun ensured communal peace and stability while deploying his rich experience in the traditional leadership of Ibadan.

“While praying to God to give the Oyo State government the wisdom to fill the vacuum the late monarch has left behind, he also prayed for the repose of the soul of the amiable king.”
