Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has stated that his administration will ensure the implementation of the Ondo Deep Seaport and complement the efforts of the Federal Government in restoring power supply to the Southern Senatorial District of the state.

According to the governor, the seaport is a legacy project of the former late governor, Oluwarotimi Akeredolu, which must be sustained for the economic growth of the state.

Aiyedatiwa spoke at Igbokoda, headquarters of Ilaje Local Council of the state during his campaign tour ahead of Saturday’s governorship primary of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

MEANWHILE, Asiwaju of Owo Kingdom, Oyewole Fasawe, yesterday, said that a frontline governorship aspirant on the platform of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Agboola Ajayi, remains the best option for the party to lead the state.

According to Fasawe, Ajayi, who was deputy governor of the state, is the most qualified to clinch the ticket of the party ahead of the November 16, 2024 governorship election. Fawase spoke when received Ajayi in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Council of the state during the latter’s tour of the ancient community.

He said that the aspirant is “the best, not only to deliver for the PDP but to also lead the state right.” He said that among all the aspirants, Ajayi is the most qualified to lead the PDP to victory in the forthcoming governorship election.

On his part, Ajayi, while addressing the party’s supporters who trooped out to welcome him to the ancient community, promised his readiness to fly the flag of the PDP at the poll. He said that the lost glory of the state would be recovered in no time if allowed to serve.
