It was a gathering of who-is-who in Nigeria at the Civic Center,Lagos recently during an award ceremony by Iconic Legacy Media Limited, headed Ambassador Mayor David Buchieze.
At the ceremony, personalities who had distinguished themselves in different fields of endeavours were awarded.
One of the outstanding personalities of the day was Brig. General IE Akpaumontia, Deputy Director, Peacekeeping Operations, Defence Headquarters, Abuja, who was awarded as “Creative Military Officer of the year 2022 & 2023.
In his remarks, Akpaumontia appreciated the organisers for finding him worthy for the honour, praying for God’s mercy and strength to do more in his service to humanity in his fatherland.
Recognised for his remarkable records and known for his passion for Military services, Akpaumontia is a member of 43 Regular Course of Nigeria Defence Academy and a seasoned senior Infantry General of the Nigerian Army.
He graduated from the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy Kaduna in 1996 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Political Science and Defence Studies and was commissioned into the Nigerian Army Infantry Corps. He equally holds a Masters Degree in Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice from Ahmadu Bello University Zaria, Masters in Political Science from the University of Lagos, an Advance Diploma in Security from the University of Lagos and as well as Masters Degree in Security and Strategic Studies from National Defence College, Tanzania.
He is a former and the 45th Commander of the famous 9 Brigade Nigerian Army Ikeja and the second foremost Commander in the newly created 12 Brigade Nigeria Army, Lokoja, Kogi State.
Honoured alongside Akpaumontia in different categories were Managing Director/ Editor-in-Chief, News Central TV, Lagos, Mr. Kayode Akinyemi; Kwara State Governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babajide Sanwo-Olu; First Lady of Nigeria, and Senator Oluremi Tinubu, among others.
