It would interest you to know that when Mallam Nasir El-Rufai was the DG, Bureau of Public Enterprises, he assisted his classmate into the Bureau, who needed a job. But he did not take his job serious probably because his classmate, who offered him the job was the DG of the Bureau. Mallam El Rufai, being an unbiased DG, personally issued warnings to his classmate, just as he has been doing to others, for playing with their job. After the several warnings and there was no compliance, and Mallam El-Rufai axed him (dismissed him).
Before the appointment of Mallam El-Rufai as the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, by the former President Olusegun Obasanjo, the city of Abuja was not looking good due to the fact that people built houses without following the Abuja master plan. Mallam El-Rufai came in as Minister, demolished all the illegal houses, built by both the rich and the poor. He was transparent in his work. The house of former National Chairman of PDP, Mr. Amadu Ali, who was still in his position was demolished by El-Rufai to show how transparent he was. Some of the senators were affected as well. Mind you, senators were the ones that approved his appointment as the Minister for FCT, but he did not spare them when discharging his duty.
Now, as the governor of Kaduna State, all eyes are on him. People want to see him change Kaduna State, people want to see him develop the state, they want to see transparency and accountability in Kaduna, people want to see positive change that Mallam El-Rufai would bring and they so much believe that he can do it because he has done it before.
If the El-Rufai I know is the same El-Rufai that is the governor of Kaduna State, then, the state is very lucky to have a personality like him. But then people must give him their maximum support and cooperation.
