All passengers dead in Abuja military plane crash

An aviation official Sunday said that all passengers and crew on board a military aircraft that crashed in Nigeria’s capital city have been killed.

Nigerian Air Force spokesman Ibikunle Daramola confirmed that there were no survivors from Sunday’s accident involving Beechcraft KingAir B350i aircraft from Abuja to Niger State.

Daramola said seven personnel were on board but did not reveal the identities of the victims.

He added that the aircraft crashed while returning to the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport after reporting engine failure en-route Minna.

Footages on social media show how firefighters tried to put out the smoldering flames of a jet engine while thousands of people looked on.

NAF spokesman said more investigation has been ordered into the crash.
