Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC), including the National Vice Chairman and state chairmen in the South East, have backed the appointment of the Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodimma, to lead and coordinate activities of the party in the region to further penetrate and consolidate control of the region.

Uzodimma was, yesterday, named one of the six coordinators of APC matters in the six geo-political zones of the country, in the party’s bid to strengthen and spread its support base across the country.

The APC state chairmen, who pledged loyalty and support to Uzodimma, commended the national leadership of the party for appointing him to make the APC, which was hitherto unknown in the South East, become a major and leading political platform in the region.

Meanwhile, the APC has inaugurated a six-member coordinating governors’ committee, chaired by the chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF), Uzodimma.

Other members of the committee are Governor Mai Mala Buni (North East), Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazak (North Central), Governor Uba Sani (North West), Governor Bassey Otu (South-South) and Babajide Sanwo-Olu (South West).
