Zulum urges periodical training for civil servants to boost service delivery

Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has charged the Head of Service of the state (HoS), Dr Mohammed Aminu Ghuluze to prioritise training and retraining of civil servants to enhance performance and service delivery.

Zulum gave the charge in Maiduguri while swearing Dr Ghuluze to strengthen governance and efficient service delivery in the state. He said: “During your tenure and before the expiration of my term, I want greater emphasis on the training of our civil servants. This, among other workers’ capacity building, is one of the issues I want you to look into for immediate implementation.”

The governor noted that the workers’ training and mentorship initiatives will boost their productivity. Speaking on the regular training of workers, Zulum said: “Liaise with the office of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and the Department of Establishment in identifying their training needs in the State’s civil service within the shortest possible time.”

While congratulating the new HoS, the governor stated: “Your track records of achievements in the civil service is a testament to your leadership and commitment to service delivery to the people.”

Ghuluze expressed gratitude to the governor for finding him worthy and pledged to implement the training and mentoring programmes for civil servants for an efficient service delivery system as enunciated by the governor. He pledged to put in his best by serving the State government and people with integrity and transparency.
