Africa Celebrates 2024: A landmark festival of unity, culture and economic growth

The United Nations Economic Commission for Africa (UNECA) and the African Union (AU) are joining forces to co-host Africa Celebrates 2024, a major cultural and economic festival in Addis Ababa from November 6-10. Held at UNECA’s state-of-the-art headquarters, the festival will open at the historic Africa Hall, the birthplace of the African Union.

Africa Celebrates 2024 will feature a diverse lineup of events promoting collaboration across the continent. Major highlights include the Africa Talks Business & Investment Forum, the Tech & Innovation Summit, and the Women & Youth Forum. Additionally, the festival will feature the Afro Film Alliance, the Africa Fashion Business Forum, and a Wellness & Beauty Africa Expo, creating a platform for showcasing innovation, creativity, and trade.

Charitable initiatives, such as the Deborah Foundation’s efforts to raise awareness about Down Syndrome, will also take center stage, emphasizing the festival’s commitment to social causes.

Beyond business and innovation, attendees will enjoy cultural showcases such as the Africa Peace Walk & Carnival, Cultural Night, and a Gala Fashion & Awards Night at the Sheraton Addis Luxury Hotel. The celebration will close with a grand finale at the African Union’s Nelson Mandela Hall.

Africa Celebrates 2024 aims to foster African unity, celebrating the continent’s cultural diversity while driving economic integration through trade and tourism initiatives. By empowering women and youth, the festival hopes to create new opportunities across Africa.

Having grown from 18 to 38 participating nations since its by inception in 2021, Lexy Mojo-Eyes, President/CEO of Legendary Gold Limited and the brain behind the much anticipated event said this year’s edition is expected to be the largest yet.
