As part of efforts aimed at nurturing and harnessing creative talents of Lagos State’s youths through art of storytelling, the Lagos State Film and Video Censors Board (LSFVCB) in partnership with PlotWeaver, an ace technology company, have launched an Artificial Intelligence (AI) innovative storytelling competition.
Addressing journalists in Lagos recently, Executive Secretary/Chief Executive Officer LSFVCB, Adebukola Agbaminoja, disclosed the competition is open for students between ages 13 and 20 years.
To her, “the competition is designed to nurture and harness the creative talents of Lagos State’s youths through the art of storytelling. Targeting students aged 13 to 20, this initiative aims to inspire a love for storytelling, offering a platform for young individuals to unleash their imagination and share their distinctive narratives.”
Through this collaboration, she added LSFVCB seeks to cultivate authentic artistic expression among adolescents, empowering them to convey their creativity.
She further highlighted the transformative impact of storytelling on young lives, encouraging all eligible youths to take part in the competition and showcase their talents.
Saying LSFVCB is dedicated to promoting and regulating the film and video sector to ensure quality a content for audiences while supporting human developmental initiatives, Agbaminoja added storytelling is a means of preserving the nation’s rich cultural heritage and building a thriving socio-economic creative economy for the state.
Speaking in a similar vein, CEO of PlotWeaver, Oluwole Fagboun, added, “at PlotWeaver, we believe storytelling is a superpower. Project Lead, Lagos Youth Storytelling Competition, Oteme Oyo, said that PlotWeaver would evaluate stories submitted in order to ensure that they are culturally relevant and commercially viable.
