The Theatre for Value Initiative (TVI) will December 13, 2024, thrill its audience to an extraordinary seven-hour non-stop performance that include dances and drama at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), Akoka, Yaba, Lagos.
 


With theme, Beyond The Stage: 7-hour Inspirational Dance And Drama, the founder of the troupe, Matilda Azum, disclosed that the ticket-free show is put up to give back to the society and also to appreciate all lovers of live theatre across the world.
 
Shedding light on the event, the thespian revealed that the TVI drama tours Initiative clocked seven on November 8, which is what informed the seven-hour theatre show.
 
According to her, the plays lined up for the show will showcase diverse societal ills with emphasis on the effect of abuse of hard drugs, especially among the youths.
 
“Celebrating seven years of taking our stagecraft to different schools in different local councils across Lagos State, we want to use the show to reach out to the youths with the aim of discouraging them from getting involved in drug abuse and to promote sanity, wellbeing, self worth, patriotism and love among the youth.”
 
Endorsed by Lagos State Tourism Commission, Azum called for partnership and sponsors of TVI programmes to enable it get to a wider audience, adding that abuse of hard drugs among the youth is a serious problem that should be niped on the bud.
 
Not ending with stage performances, Azum noted that TVI cast and crew would visit a rehab centre and the children in a juvenile home to give them gifts and messages of love.
