The fifth edition of Chow With Amaka, a unique banquet featuring food fusions from all six geopolitical zones in the country is set to unfurl at the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos, on December 15.
Curated by Chef Amaka Nwakalor-Egemba, who’s also the President, Culinary Arts Practitioners Association of Nigeria, the banquet aims to promote awareness of indigenous cuisine as well as foster unity among Nigerians.
“Chow With Amaka started in 2018, and our goal is to promote Nigerian ingredients through fine-dining cuisine. I believe Nigerian cuisine has an upper edge above others in the world. And one thing that distinguishes us is our depth of flavor and its complexity. This year we are focusing on celebrating the six geopolitical zones with a six-course menu. There’s a lot of options that we cannot even exhaust,” Chef Amaka said.
The event is supported by other Nigerian culinary experts including Ocean Spirit, MyFoodAngels, Meat Madam, and Tabletop Gloves, as well as brands like Vendy, and Lurpak. The organizers also highlighted other side attractions like cultural showcases and music performances, among others.
