I came from a place where artist and art have the least, says Ayegbayo
Damola Ayegbayo is an experienced visual artist with a demonstrated history of working in the arts and crafts industry. The name of his painting style is called ÀBÈFÉ meaning (pleaded to be loved).
He rose to stardom in art industry when his works was acknowledge and exhibited in England.
Ayegbayo artworks has graced galleries across the globe and exhibitions.
He is currently recognize as one of the biggest visual artists in Osun State, with over 1,500 works of painting and visual arts.
Speaking on painting, displayed at KPMG and the Standard chartered bank, he said: “I have a strong affiliation with all my artworks. In terms of painting and visual arts, my art works in KPMG and standard chartered bank are one of my favourites but not my best.
“I am a full time artist and also the founder of Victor arts and enterprises, a company that deals with production and sales of artworks around the world, I have sold so many works to the UK, USA, Canada, Norway.
Speaking on his journey, the artist said: “My journey has been a steady progress to reach this point in my lifetime. Growing up was tough and demanding. I came from a place where artist and art have the least or no encouragement, which makes it difficult for artists to strive.
Speaking on places where his work is being displayed currently, he said: “My artwork can be found at Art from the motherland (AFM) Gallery , USA, Iwalewa art gallery, Ogirikan art gallery , Art colony gallery, Constance and sons gallery among other places.
On the work that brought him to the limelight, he said: “It is “Celebrations of life”. It is a beautiful artwork that was part of my exhibition in England. The artwork is titled around my life experience at different stages and faces.
