Basking in the euphoria of his success in 2023, Nigeria award-winning musician, Ahmed Ololade, well known as Asake, kick-started the year with the release of his first single titled Only Me.

Released on January 13 as a birthday gift to himself, the single comes off the back of his remarkable performance alongside Gunna on Sarz’s hit single, Happiness. Only Me is set to mark the music superstar’s anticipated continued mainstream dominance since his emergence in January 2022 with the release of the Olamide-assisted track, Omo Ope.

Produced by BlaiseBeatz, Asake’s rhythmic journey through Only Me captures the essence of self-discovery and unapologetic pride in personal achievements. He seamlessly maintains his signature flow while infusing an irresistible dance beat in the song. He also beckons for applause, labeling himself a ‘child of grace’ (omo ologo).

With a busy schedule ahead, the YBNL signee aims to clinch his first Grammy Award this year, as he has been nominated in the ‘Best African Song Performance’ category for his hit single, Amapiano, featuring Olamide at this year’s Grammy Awards, which is set to hold on Sunday, February 5.

Asake gained prominence in 2020 after he put out his critically acclaimed hit song Lady, which earned him a sign-on by the Olamide Adedeji led YBNL Nation in February 2022. That same month, he released his debut extended play, Ololade (Mr. Money), featuring his breakthrough song, Omo Ope and the single, Sungba.
