Lovers of the Renault brand were thrilled to see a show of locally assembled vehicles when Coscharis Motors Plc showcased two automobile models amongst others during the 15th Lagos Motor Fair in Lagos recently.

This is coming even as the Nigeria Automotive Design and Development Council (NADDC) assured stakeholders in the industry of government’s support towards the growth of locally assembled vehicles.

Speaking at the fair, General Manager, Marketing and Communications, Coscharis Group, Abiona Babarinde, said: “If you recall in July 2019, we formally announced our partnership with the Renault Group to represent their auto brands in Nigeria. We equally showcased our ultra-modern Semi-Knocked-Down assembly plant located in Lagos.

“As of today, we are excited to say that Coscharis Motors has since been rolling out two name plates of the Renault Brand, namely Logan and Duster, from the assembly plant,” he said.

These two locally assembled nameplates, according to Abiona, are among the five models that include Renault Kwid, Renault Koleos and Renault Oroch respectively on display here today under the Renault brand.”

Commenting on the locally assembled vehicles, Director General, NADDC, Dr. Jelani Aliyu, expressed excitement to see Coscharis Motors assemble Renault vehicles in Nigeria.

Aliyu said the NADDC and other relevant agencies of government are willing to support players in this regard.

He commended and congratulated the leadership and entire Coscharis team and their Renault partners for this great feat and assured the company of government’s support towards the growth of local assembling of more Renault models in its plant.

Besides, Coscharis Motors equally used the fair to intimate the market on its ongoing ‘giveaway’ promotion for any purchase of the Kwid and Koleos that attracts a free Abro Generator, five per cent discount, free insurance, free vehicle registration and free vehicle service for the first two services. The Koleos
