The need to tactically navigate or avert factors that could retard the growth and progress of ministries, as well as those endangering the well-being of clerics formed the kernel of discussions at a conference, where pastors and other church leaders converged to learn the essentials of ministry to enhance productivity and excellence in ministry.

The Ministers’ Conference Lagos, which was held at the K & M Event Centre New Oko-Oba, Abule Egba, Lagos, was at the behest of the Newcastle, a United Kingdom-based City of God Christian Centre in partnership with the Achievers Sanctuary International, Lagos.

Coordinator of the conference and Senior Pastor of Achievers Sanctuary International, Pastor Joe Alome, who spoke on a wide range of issues, shaded light on what pastors should do to be successful in their ministries and family lives without compromising their health.

He dwelt on leadership excellence, flock and crisis management, and resilience in adversity, stressing that the essence of the conference was to “equip pastors for holistic ministry development.

Harping on the need to have faith to please God, Alome noted that faith is an essential requirement in the ministry, adding that “quitting is not an option, and that ministers should stand in faith until answers to their prayers come.”

Visioner/Pioneer of the conference and Lead Pastor of the City of God, Christian Centre, Apostle Bright Onoka, spoke about the importance of clerics being obedient to their heavenly vision, staying true to their calling and be adept at financial planning.

He also emphasised the need for personal development and associating with the right people if they want to excel in the ministry.
The conference, which had about 500 church leaders in attendance provided platform for the clergy to interface with their colleagues.

Some of the cleric that graced the event included the Province Chairman of Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), Ifako Ijaiye, Rev. Alfred Shoyemi; General Overseer of Victory Life Mission International, Rev. Abraham Akinola; General Overseer of Repairers Chapels, Pastor Olumoyokun Akinlosotu; General Overseer of Hope Liberation, Lagos, Rev. Kingsman Okpoto, and the General Overseer of Word of Life Church, Lagos, Pastor Fisayo Daniel, among others.
