Vice President Kashim Shettima has described former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and the National Security Adviser (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, as beneficiaries of President Bola Tinubu’s political goodwill.

Shettima said that Tinubu’s Bourdilon home became a veritable sanctuary for victims of political witch-hunt like Atiku when he was allegedly harassed, intimidated, dehumanised and chased out of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

The Vice President stated this, yesterday, during the commissioning of projects, including the 9.2 kilometres Omisanjana/Deeper Life/Ajebamidele Road, the Adire hub at Ado-Iworoko, and the official inspection of the Third Expanded National MSME Clinic Ekiti 2024.

He said: “When many of his contemporaries were struggling to have a seat on the dinner table in Abuja, he was sacrificing his resources, goodwill and energy toward the enthronement of democracy in this country.

“He has been a very veritable sanctuary for victims of political witch-hunt. When Atiku Abubakar was harassed, intimidated, dehumanised and chased out of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), it was the Bourdilion he ran to for support and it was there he got the needed support and he contested for the Presidency of this country.

“Four years later, the same Asiwaju supported another Nigerian to contest for the Presidency of this nation. He is the current National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu.

“The road that led us to Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu did not happen by chance. This is a man who has shown profound commitment to improving the quality of governance in this nation.”

For you in Ekiti, you have never had it so good. As Martin Luther King rightly said, we either learn to live together as brothers or perish together as fools.

“On the issue of the MSME, this expanded clinic has brought together the regulators in the sector alongside business owners and investors from various business classes across the length and breadth of this nation.

“And we are honoured to be joined by government partners and agencies such as SMEDAN, NEXIM, ITF, NAFDAC and others. They are here to offer guidance and provide necessary services for the smooth of operation their businesses.

“Our private sector partners, including, MAN, NACCIMA and many others are equally mobilised to collaborate with you in transforming your entrepreneur dream to reality.”

Shettima, however, hinted that the President has directed that all at the MSMSE clinic today should receive N150,000 grant each. In his remarks, Minister for Solid Minerals Development, Dele Alake, said that the Federal Government, under the Presidency of Tinubu, would always support the state.

In his welcome address, Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji, commended Tinubu for supporting the state. He urged Ekiti indigenes to put politics aside, as the election is over, saying it is time for governance for the betterment of the state.
