Audio Girl Africa launches ProducHER series bootcamp

Committed to empowering and equipping young African girls/women with audio technology and music business skills, providing them with the adequate support and a professional network to be able to scale up their careers in the music industry, Audio Girl Africa, a non-profit organisation working to increase the involvement of women as music creators and professionals, has launched its flagship songwriting and recording bootcamp tagged ProducHER Series in Lagos.

This is coming on the heels of the success of its five-day bootcamp held in March 2023, in partnership with the Collins Ajereh, aka Don Jazzy led Mavin Global. The boot camp series aims to foster collaboration among female creatives across the music industry to create a music project together (a single/extensive play). Each session will showcase the contribution of the selected female creatives working behind the scenes.

Facilitated through the generous support of Warner Music Group and the Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund’s SJF Repertoire, the boot camp aims to bring together female recording artistes, songwriters, producers, mixing engineers, music executives, and industry professionals, who will collaborate in a supportive environment to create and showcase their work within the music industry.

Commenting on the project, the founder of Audio Girl Africa, Febe Adedamola, said, “This ProducHER series project is four years in the making and with the grant from the Warner Music Group/Blavatnik Family Foundation Social Justice Fund’s SJF Repertoire, our organisation is able to launch an initiative like this and continue in our mission to increase the involvement of young African women in the music creation, production and engineering space by providing them with audio technology and music business training opportunities and resources. We are beyond grateful for the support.”

For  the Managing Director of Warner Music Africa, Temilade Adeniji, “in awarding Audio Girl Africa with a grant under the Repertoire Fund supported by the WMG BFF Social Justice Fund, Warner Music Africa furthers its commitment to championing participation of young African women in audio technology and the music ecosystem at large.”
