Kebbi State Governor, Abubakar Bagudu, has approved N6 billion for the settlement of pensioners in the state. The approval is contained in a statement signed by the Acting Head of Service (HoS), Alhaji Safiyanu Bena, and made available to the newsmen at the weekend.
From the money, workers, who retired from service in 2017 and 2018 and had received part-payment of their gratuity, will get their balance. Other retirees from 2019, 2020 and 2021 will also be paid.
This is the outcome of a recent meeting between the Chairman, Audit Committee for State and Local Government Pensioners, Acting Head of the Civil Service and the State Chairman, Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
