Balmoral partner IFMA for better operations, best practices

Balmoral Group has partnered International Facility Management Association (IFMA) Nigerian Chapter to advance standards and practices of facility management for sustainable and impactful results.

This was at a stakeholders meeting, themed IFMA-Balmoral Group Strategic Collaboration on Support Services to the Event Industry Through Capacity Building in Lagos.


Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Balmoral Group, Dr Ezeikel Adamu, stated the importance of partnership to help leverage best practices, latest knowledge and technology to navigate the constant evolution in the industry.
He noted that as the world’s largest and most widely recognized international association for facility management professionals, IFMA is at the forefront of advancing the industry through education, research, networking, and advocacy.

According to him, Balmoral’s collaboration with IFMA is founded on core pillars, such as innovation, education, sustainability, and strategic partnership for operational excellence, all of which are crucial to achieving its expansion goals.

“By partnering with IFMA, we will provide our staff, clients, and the broader community with access to world-class training programs, certifications, and industry insights. We are also deeply committed to sustainable practices that minimise our environmental impact and promote social responsibility.

“The plan to expand the Balmoral Group to over 50 venues in the next 5 to 10 years is not just about increasing our footprint, but setting new standards in venue management and ensuring each new location embodies the excellence and innovation that Balmoral is known for,” Dr Adamu added.

President, IFMA, Nigerian Chapter, Estate surveyor Lekan Akinwumi, stated that as facility managers, their core value is the safety of environment and people utilising it.

He noted that through the collaboration, they aim to build and deliver safe event centers, train staff, develop capacity in facility management skills and teach on how to utilise scarce resources.

Head of Department, Noise Pollution, Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), Abosede Natufe, representing General Manager, LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi said that in the first quarter of 2024, there has been numerous environmental public complaints, which are not limited to noise pollution but also land, water, air and other forms of pollution.

Advocating for better practices, he said that the nonchalant attitudes towards environmental care is taking a great toll on government with respect to numerous infrastructure and financial commitments in ensuring compliance to safe environmental practices in the community.
