Following protracted destruction of life and property by bandits and terrorists in the northern region, Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris Kauran Gwandu, has joined his counterparts in northwestern Nigeria to launch the Zamfara State Community Protection Guards .

Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ahmed Idris, who disclosed this in a statement, yesterday, said the guards will complement the efforts of security agencies towards protecting the life and property of Zamfara people.

According to him, the screened youths, who passed out yesterday, were trained on the rudiments of security operations and ways to restore lasting peace across the state.
