Bandits kidnap worshippers inside mosque in Zamfara

Bandits, in the early morning of Tuesday, kidnapped several worshippers who were observing tahajjud (midnight) prayers in a mosque in Gusau Town in Zamfara State.

Zamfara State Police Command following the kidnap is yet to speak on the incident.

Tuesday’s incident is the latest in the kidnapping and attacks of worshippers inside mosques by bandits.

In late February, 40 worshippers were kidnapped by bandits in a mosque in Tsafe town, the headquarters of Tsafe Local Council of Zamfara State.


It was gathered that the bandits parked their motorcycles on the outskirts of the town, disguised in native attires and entered the town.

Last month, bandits attacked a mosque in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State and killed two worshippers.

The bandits stormed the Mosque at Anguwar Makera in Kwasakwasa community in the local government at about 2:00 pm. on Friday and opened fire on the worshippers.
