Beautiful Camp opens in Jos, Abuja

Audience

With the support of the Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Czech Aid, Jos Repertory Theatre is set to open Beautiful Camp in the cities of Jos and Abuja. The camp, which is both virtual and physical, will open with seminars and interactions before the four days physical camp in Abuja involving all the participants and a core group of facilitators, who will reside and share ideas in a mutually respectful manner with participants from all the geo-political zones of Nigeria.

According to the Artistic Director of Jos Repertory Theatre, Patrick- Jude Oteh, “using the arts, the programme tends to localise the transition promotion policy of the Czech Republic encouraging all aspects of democratic culture, respect for human rights, the rule of law and the wellbeing of the society at large.”

He added, “the camp is made up of artistes, journalists, bloggers, lawyers, writers and ordinary people from local communities who will be twinned together to work in their respective projects across geo-political borders seeking for the common good across the most difficult divides and offering hope in challenging and difficult times in an atmosphere of equality and non-discrimination leveraging on political and public participation with youths from other geo-political zones of Nigeria.”
