Bola Tinubu will transform Nigeria — Human rights activist, Abayomi

Tunji Abayomi

Human rights activist, Tunji Abayomi, has pledged that the President-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, would transform Nigeria, adding that he’s the one Nigerians need at present.

Abayomi, who represented Tinubu, spoke on Friday, during a Hi-Tech Level Discussion with the theme: A New Nigeria: Leadership
Imperatives for Radical Growth and Transformation. It was organised by Triune Foundation in Lagos.

Abayomi said: “What the people need in a democracy is consistency. They want a system that will enhance their livability, wellbeing and functionality. There will be change this time. The next government will work and this realisation is important, because the president-elect was one of the precursors in the struggle for democracy. This is the first time one of us, the essential soldier of democracy in Nigeria, will become president. Nigerians should expect a new age…”

Also speaking, Ogeloyinbo of Ayetoro, Oba Micah Olaseni Ajijo, said: “We must create a market economy that reproduces itself, not a rent-seeking economy. We need to regenerate this economy…”

The Convener and Founder, Triune Foundation, Jeremiah Akinsele, said: “We have lamented enough in Nigeria. I decided that we should come together, rub minds and see how we can move forward. We don’t have anywhere to go, Nigeria is our country and we must not allow it to fail.

“ We are trying to engage the new government and we will start writing them to push ideas. We will not give up. This event is for entrepreneurs and not politicians, but we put up our reports and send to them. Nigeria cannot remain the same…”
