Book on Okowa’s achievements to be unveiled July 26

The Governor of Delta State, Sheriff Oborevwori, will lead other prominent personalities to the public presentation of “Hope and Fulfillment,” a book that chronicles major achievements of the former governor of the state, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa.

It was gathered that Oborevwori would be joined at the event by his Edo, Bayelsa, Akwa-Ibom and Osun counterparts.

The book is a product of critical works by renowned media practitioners on Okowa’s eight-year tenure as governor.


It was edited by Olisa Ifeajika, a former Deputy Editor-in-Chief of News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) and Okowa’s Chief Press Secretary (CPS), as well as Frank Igwebueze, a former Editor at the defunct National Concord Newspaper.

The book, with Foreword by Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, one-time Minister of Information, will be unveiled on July 26, 2023, in Asaba.

The event would have Prof. Andy Egwunyenga, Vice Chancellor, Delta State University, Abraka, as Chairman, while Alhaji Awa Ibraheem will be the Chief Launcher.

Political leaders, serving and past lawmakers in the state, as well as principal officials that served in Okowa’s administration, are some of the guests expected at the occasion.
