British Council hosts CESP 2023 finale

CESP Art ShowcaseThe grand finale of the British Council Creative Economy Support Programme (CESP) Art Showcase in Lagos was an extraordinary exhibition of artistic talent and innovation. Hosted by The British Council and curated by TASCK Creative Agency, the event captivated diverse audience comprising art enthusiasts, fashion aficionados, and creative individuals from across Lagos. The event held on the 26th of March, 2023 was the finale in a six-month series of the British council CESP programme.


The CESP Art Showcase Grand Finale perfectly exemplified the vibrancy of the Nigerian art and fashion scenes, providing a platform for 15 exceptionally talented exhibitors to present their captivating artwork.

The event encompassed a multitude of artistic expressions, including a captivating runway show with diverse fashion creators such as AyoAshiru, an eponymous female wear brand whose classy and timeless pieces enamoured the crowd, Ojekide a menswear designer and more. It also featured a pop-up fashion market, mesmerizing art exhibits, captivating film viewings, an engaging Adire workshop, an instructor-led sip and paint session, a digital fashion exhibit, soulful jazz and dance performances, and captivating live acts by Yinka Davies and Loye.

Ndubuisi Kanu, Associate Consultant at the British Council, expressed his admiration for the exceptional event, extending gratitude to all the exhibitors, performers, and attendees who contributed to its success. Looking forward to future editions of the CESP Art Showcase, he emphasized the commitment to promoting and celebrating the arts in Nigeria.
