Building collapse: Sujimoto harp on use of quality materials

The incessant collapse of buildings in Lagos in the last month has raised major concerns about the conditions of building structures in the country.

Government agencies and private firms are relentlessly seeking out measures to limit the chances of more mishaps, nationwide.

As a result, the Managing Director, of Sujimoto Group, Sijibomi Ogundele has said that building collapse in the country is as a result of underlying factors that were not ruled out during construction.
Listing the factors liable for building collapse, he said: “buildings are bound to crumble due to defects in design, compromises in the quality of the foundation, or compromises in the quality of materials used to erect such structures.”

Speaking further, Ogundele, asserted that a building’s durability is assured by the basal structure hinged on ancient engineering and the universal principles of the structural integrity of any building. He added that compromising these rudiments will do so little in limiting the bane of building collapse in the country.

To this effect, he stated that the Sujimoto Group develops building structures with durability over centuries, having studied ancient construction methodologies, which are the blueprint of modern-day engineering.
