Building Young Entrepreneurs: DunsinCraft collection, AWE alumnae lead project 50 kids initiative

In a transformative partnership aimed at empowering young minds, DunsinCraft Collection collaborated with the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) Alumnae Association for their impactful Project 50 Kids initiative. The program, held in Abeokuta, Ogun State on the 23rd of May, 2023 focused on empowering 5 children from 10 different schools through various educational sessions and skill acquisition trainings.


The heart of the program lay in the educational sessions designed to inspire and educate the young participants. Two essential topics took center stage: “Monetizing your craft and skill as a teen” and “Children’s Wellbeing” address. These sessions aimed to equip the children with valuable knowledge and practical insights into leveraging their talents and skills for financial independence, as well as addressing important aspects of their overall well-being.

Adding a skill acquisition approach to the program, four engaging classes were conducted to provide the children with practical skills they could apply in their daily lives. The classes included recycling, tie & dye, beading, and Afrocentric accessories crafts. Through these sessions, the young participants had the opportunity to explore their creativity, learn new techniques, and develop their craftsmanship under the guidance of experienced trainers.

Representing DunsinCraft Collection, Oluwadunsin Bolaji took on the role of empowering the children in the art of making Afrocentric accessories. Oluwadunsin Bolaji’s impressive credentials and extensive experience in the field of Afrocentric accessory design further solidify her as an exceptional facilitator for the students. With over 3 years of being an NYSC SAED (National Youth Service Corps, Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development) trainer, she has already made a significant impact by imparting her knowledge and skills to over 2,000 individuals aspiring to become Afrocentric accessory designers.

Her accreditation as a trainer at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, further underscores her expertise and recognition in the industry. This prestigious position demonstrates her commitment to excellence in teaching and equipping aspiring designers with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the world of Afrocentric accessories.
Through her training sessions, Oluwadunsin Bolaji has honed her ability to effectively communicate complex concepts and techniques to learners of diverse backgrounds. Her approachable and engaging teaching style creates a conducive learning environment, enabling her students to grasp the intricacies of Afrocentric accessory design with ease.
