Grammy award winner and African Giant crooner, Damini Ogulu, well known by the stage name, Burna Boy, has described his Monday, April 1 announcement of a joint project release with J Hus with British rapper and singer Momodou Lamin Jallow known professionally as J Hus as “Best April Fool in a while”.
The self-acclaimed ‘Odogwu’, a title to one of his records, confirmed this in a post on his X handle. He revealed that the proposed joint EP with J Hus set for release later in the year was a hoax and an April Fool Day prank.
The news of the said project was first shared by a Burna Boy fan via the account @benny7gg on April 1 with Burna Boy’s official X handle quoting the post with a finger-pointing emoji. In response to the news, J Hus’ X handle also quoted Burna Boy’s post with the same finger-pointing emoji which further added to the credibility of the news.
Burna Boy and J Hus have collaborated on different occasions with the duo finding a fine balance of their artistry that showcases their synergy. Recently, Burna Boy featured on J Hus’ Masculine a track off his album Beautiful and Brutal Yard.
