The Ogun State Police Command has arraigned Oba Abdulsemiu Ogunjobi, the Olorile of Orile-Ifo, on a three-count charge of conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely.
Police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, confirmed this in a short statement on Tuesday.
Adejobi said Ogunjobi, a retired police officer, was charged before the court with conspiracy, assault, and conduct likely.
Ogunjobi was also granted bail while the case was adjourned to 06/03/2025, Adejobi added.
“The police will continue to uphold the rule of law and the core values of the noble profession,” Adejobi said.
Ogunjobi’s charges follow a viral two-minute video showing the monarch berating 65-year-old chief, Arinola Abraham, who was seen kneeling on a road as Ogunjobi cursed him and accused him of conspiracy.
The monarch also allegedly threatened to use his influence to jail the elderly chief, boasting of his ties to law enforcement agencies.
