Grooming Endowment Trust to provide N12.5million grant for startups

A not-for-profit organisation, Grooming Endowment Trust, has called for applications from business startups to access its Grooming Endowment Trust Grant Programme (GETGP) fund for growth.

The GETGP is an initiative that focuses on empowering start-ups and their developers in Nigeria.

According to the organisation, they aim to give financial assistance and also provide relevant skills that aid the beneficiaries to scale up and navigate through the business environment in the country.

Speaking on the grant, Chairperson of the Grooming Endowment Trust, Adaobi Okafor, said the programme would be focused on innovative businesses in sectors such as health, education, humanitarian works, social entrepreneurship, and enterprise and community development.

Spokesman for the organisation, Ayotunde Hassan, said the grant is to support small-scale businesses that need credit to scale up financially and improve business processes.

According to him, the grant tagged ‘Get Compass’ will provide N2 million each to 5 top businesses, while 10 runners-up will each receive N250, 000.

To be eligible for the programme, interested business owners, who are above 18 years, must have a business that has run for about a year and be able to show initiative and possible continuity of business. They must be small-scale businesses that show purpose and need for funding.

Hassan directed business owners to apply on the company website between August 22 to September 9, 2022.
