System migration won’t affect banking operations, First Bank assures customers
First Bank has assured customers that its planned transition to a new cloud-based procurement and financial platform will not disrupt banking operations.
The bank announced on Thursday that it would migrate to the new platform as part of efforts to enhance operational efficiency and service delivery. However, concerns arose that the migration might lead to service disruptions, similar to those recently experienced by customers of other banks.
In a statement released on Thursday night, the Group Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications, Folake Ani-Mumuney, clarified that the transition would only affect the bank’s interactions with suppliers, not customer transactions or banking channels.
“FirstBank, West Africa’s premier financial institution and financial inclusion services provider, has announced that it will transition from its current I-Supplier Platform to a new Cloud-based Supplier Platform. This world-class platform will provide enhanced capabilities and benefits for our vendors,” the statement read.
Ani-Mumuney said that the supplier platform update would take place from October 26 to November 3, 2024, with the new platform going live on November 4, 2024. During this period, suppliers will be unable to access the bank’s platform, but regular banking operations will remain unaffected.
