Infinix opens flagship store in Abuja, launches GT 30 Pro for 2025 PUBG Mobile Africa Cup

Infinix, one of Africa’s leading smartphone brands, on Sunday unveiled its flagship experience store in Abuja in partnership with Harmony Stores, creating a one-stop hub for smartphones, laptops, gaming computers, and accessories.

The launch coincided with the announcement of the inaugural 2025 PUBG Mobile Africa Cup, which Infinix is staging in partnership with PUBG MOBILE.
The competition, the first large-scale tournament of its kind on the continent, will feature the GT 30 Pro as its official device.

With 120 FPS support, the GT 30 Pro is positioned as Infinix’s flagship gaming smartphone. The tournament carries a prize pool of $8,000, with the winning team set to claim $2,000 and a ticket to the 2025 PUBG Mobile Global Championship (PMGC).

Alongside the matches, Infinix will host a Gaming Fan Festival featuring cosplay, cheer squads, and prize draws.
The twin milestones—the Abuja store opening and the Africa Cup launch in Kenya, officials say—underscore Infinix’s growing role in advancing esports on the continent while deepening its commitment to Nigerian youth culture through technology.

The event, held at Jabi Lake Mall, comes at a time when technology retailers are grappling with steep import duties, VAT, and a proliferation of state and local levies.

Stakeholders warn that unless multiple taxation is addressed, it could discourage investments from global brands.

Managing Director/CEO of Harmony Group, Olusegun Adebayo, commended Infinix for the partnership and assured customers that the new store would deliver premium products at competitive prices despite the challenging tax climate.

“This is a place where you can shop for everything technology: computers, gaming laptops, smartphones, smart TVs, accessories, power banks, and smartwatches,” Adebayo said.

“For gamers especially, our new GT 34 device with 250GB storage and 12GB RAM is built to withstand intensive use. We are creating a true home for gaming lovers in Abuja.”

On perceptions that Jabi Lake Mall outlets are overpriced, he said:
“Don’t be deceived by the ambience. You can actually get items here cheaper than in many conventional markets,” adding that Harmony’s service centre within the mall will provide after-sales support.

On the new tax framework, Adebayo expressed optimism. “I believe in government’s fairness, particularly toward small and medium enterprises. Our focus remains on creating value for customers while staying compliant,” he said.

He disclosed that Harmony Group currently operates 12 branches—four in Abuja, including Oraimo and Premier Gadgets outlets, and eight in Lagos—reflecting its growing presence in the country’s retail tech sector.

Guest of honour, Prince Yomi Omogbehin, Permanent Secretary, Special Duties and Parliamentary Security, National Assembly, hailed the flagship launch as a vote of confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s economic potential.

“It is truly encouraging to see global brands like Infinix choosing Abuja for their flagship store. This investment expands access to technology, creates jobs, empowers young people, and inspires entrepreneurship,” he said.

Omogbehin urged young Nigerians to seize opportunities in the tech sector. “My message is simple: seize the opportunities around you. With dedication and resilience, young Nigerians can compete not just locally, but globally,” he said, while also calling for stronger public-private collaboration to accelerate growth and youth empowerment.

Infinix PR Manager, Oluwayemisi Ode, said the GT 30 Pro represents a new benchmark in mobile gaming performance.

“The GT 30 Pro is our first gaming flagship offering a true All-Day Full FPS System. With a powerful processor, advanced GPU, immersive graphics, and gamer-focused smart features, it sets a new standard for mobile gaming in Nigeria—powerful, stylish, and competitively priced,” she said.

She revealed that only 30 units of the device will be available nationwide, making it a collector’s edition for gamers and enthusiasts. The model is now on sale at the Jabi Mall flagship and select outlets.

Ode added that Nigeria remains a priority market for Infinix. “This flagship store is designed to deepen our presence, bring premium experiences closer to customers, and reinforce our long-term commitment to the country,” she said, noting that the brand’s Performance 3.0 Era will deliver more AI-powered devices and ecosystem-driven innovations.

The Abuja opening drew government officials, private-sector stakeholders, industry enthusiasts, and young tech-savvy Nigerians, underscoring Infinix’s growing confidence in the Nigerian market
