NSITF insists on digitisation of operations

Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) is forging ahead with the digitisation of its operations to boost its operational efficiency.The managing director of the Fund, Oluwaseun Faleye, said the step is not an option.

Faleye spoke in his opening remarks at the bi-annual Regional Management Performance Review (RMPR), which was held simultaneously in six regions of the NSITF across the nation.

His words: “Digital transformation is not optional, it is urgent. We are investing in e-NSITF platforms, digital records systems and data-driven service delivery to reduce manual inefficiencies, improve transparency and restore confidence.”

Speaking to the theme of the RMPR, ‘Beyond Targets: Delivery Excellence and Sustainable Growth’, Faleye said the exercise was not merely to audit numbers, but to reaffirm NSITF’s shared mission of transferring the Fund into an institution that delivers tangible, people-centred impact at scale.

“We are navigating a complex landscape, where expectations are rising, technology is distrusting old models and our relevance is being measured by not just what we do, but how we do it,” he added.

The NSITF boss who expressed confidence in the management staff in the face of numerous challenges, however, charged staff to strive for excellence.He added: “We must move beyond the comfort of ‘meeting targets’ and embrace the new standard of delivery excellence. Excellence that is visible in how we treat contributions, in how swiftly we process claims, in how compassionately we engage beneficiaries, and in how our value is felt by workers, employers and society.”

He listed numerous achievements of the Fund in the past year and also laid out his aspirations for the Fund going forward. He charged the review team to be honest, courageous, and solution-oriented while highlighting what is working, spotlighting what is not, sharing ideas that can travel across regions, and raising red flags before they become crises.

In her speech, the Executive Director of Operations, Mojisola Alli-Macaulay, said the review afforded the staff the opportunity to reflect on progress, confront challenges, and recommit to operational excellence as they chart the course for the months ahead.

In the same vein, the Executive Director of Administration, Samaila Abdul, restated the commitment of the Fund’s Executive Management team to supporting the staff to achieve the organisation’s goals.

On his part, the newly-appointed Executive Director of Finance and Investment, Olugbemi Ayodele Samuel, applauded the management staff for their dedication and urged them to come up with implementable decisions.

The Vice President, Kashim Shettima, hailed Faleye for repositioning the Fund to better serve Nigerian workers. Shetima stated this when. He visited the exhibition stand of the NSITF at the National Manpower Summit, which was held at the State House Banquet Hall, Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In the meantime, the Fund has bagged a prestigious award for advancing workforce protection and productivity. The award was presented during the gala night of the National Industrial Manpower Summit held at the banquet hall of the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

In his remarks, Faleye described the honour as a testament to the collective dedication of the Fund’s management and staff in driving reforms that restore confidence in the institution.
