Promasidor Nigeria Limited, makers of Onga, is honouring the nation and its people with a nationwide campaign that shares more than just meals; it shares unity, love, and community.
The initiative, themed “One Pot, One People: The Taste of Home,” is a symbolic expression of Onga’s commitment to strengthening national unity through food. By serving meals flavoured with Onga across Nigeria, the brand is reminding citizens that while recipes may differ, the bond of flavour and togetherness remains the same.
From Miyankuka in the North to Ayamase in the West, Oha Soup in the East and the ever-loved Jollof Rice enjoyed everywhere in between, Onga is celebrating the cultural richness of Nigeria through its culinary diversity. Each dish tells a story of identity, heritage, and love, proving that amidst our diversity, we are one people.
Speaking on the campaign, Marketing Director, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Adebola Williams, said: “Onga believes that the same flavour that seasons our meals also seasons our togetherness. That is why this Independence, and throughout October, we are celebrating Nigerians by sharing meals across the country. In doing so, we honour our unity, our diversity, and the taste that connects us all.”
At the heart of this celebration is Onga’s enduring brand essence: “Onga, The Taste of Home.” More than a tagline, it reflects a deeper cultural truth that home is not just a place but a feeling. It is the warmth of a shared plate, the laughter over a pot of soup, and the comfort of familiar flavours that remind us that we are one people.
Also commenting, Culinary Category Manager, Promasidor Nigeria Limited, Omotayo Olaobaju, added: “The joy of a shared meal is the joy of being Nigerian. Whether at home with family or with friends, Onga is proud to be the flavour that makes these moments special. As we mark 65 years of our nation’s journey, we reaffirm our commitment to nourishing Nigerians with tasty meals.”
