To Train Nigerians In Perfume Making
In commemoration of its first year anniversary, fragrance experience and retail brand, Seinde Signature, has drawn global leaders in the perfume industry to Nigeria and also announced partnerships with 17 international fragrance brands and influencers.

The firm also revealed that it would be holding a Craft Workshop aimed at teaching Nigerians about perfume making.

According to a report, Nigeria boasts of a beauty and personal care market that is expected to exceed $1.3 billion in 2022.

The event tagged, Seinde Signature One Year Scentiversary, kicked off on Friday, October 29, 2021 and will culminate tomorrow, November 1, 2021. It will give Nigerian fragrance lovers, perfumers and fragrance industry professionals the opportunity to network, learn and have access to a standard of professionalism that will be recognised worldwide.

The Craft Workshop, holds in Abuja by 12noon tomorrow, in collaboration with Lael Perfumery Academy.

According to the organiser and MD/CEO of Seinde Signature, Olufemi Olaseinde Olusola, the workshop will bring global leaders in the fragrance business such as Daniel Mark Gyimah from Netherland, Felice Di Maio from Germany, Bogdan Vlad from the UK, Joseph Alexander Secu from the US, Daniel Josier from Spain and Glenn Davis from the US to Nigeria. It is also aimed at changing the negative perception about Nigeria and convince investors about the viability of the Nigeria market.

He added that part of the objective of the event is to highlight the bright future and legacy of Seinde Signature that will revolutionise the fragrance industry in Nigeria and Africa as well as put Nigeria on the map as a key player in the luxury fragrance market.

Olusola told The Guardian, “One of the reasons we have big names coming to Nigeria is because they want to see for themselves what they watch online. Coming here will also make them understand that Nigeria is not as bad as some portray it online. Their coming is an opportunity for us to be presented in a different light. Apart from that, it will also come with a lot of businesses, and some of them may want to come and start factories in Nigeria.”

He added: “The workshop is an opportunity for local artisans and perfumers to be able to discuss and learn how it is done internally. The guys coming are masters. So, participants will gain a lot of things that will help their growth.”

Speaking on his business journey, the self-proclaimed fraghead, said: “I grew into perfume, I never believed I will ever sell the product. I started buying perfume since I left school in 1979. So, I’ve collected close to 3000.

“During the pandemic, I started posting pictures of perfume on my Instagram page and people began to contact me that they want to visit. So, we decided to get an office where they can easily come. That was why we opened the office as an experience centre for them to come and smell the perfume before they buy. The manufacturers were also contacting us to sell their products and we were soon stuck between those who want to buy and those who want to sell, hence, it became a business. The only regret I have is that I should have started the business in the 80s but it’s never too late to start.

“The one-year celebration is more than just an anniversary for the brand. This is a celebration of the bright future and legacy of Seinde Signature that will revolutionise the fragrance industry in Nigeria and Africa.”
