United Nigeria Airlines has unveiled the plan to commence its first-ever regional service with the launch of direct flights to Accra, Ghana, beginning November 10, 2025.
A statement by the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of United Nigeria Airlines, Mazi Osita Okonkwo, said that the new route, which would operate from Lagos and Abuja to Kotoka International Airport, Accra, marked a major milestone in the airline’s expansion beyond Nigeria’s borders.
Okonkwo said the new service aligned with the airline’s strategic vision to strengthen regional connectivity and promote economic integration within West Africa.
“Ghana is an important part of our regional growth plan. This marks our first operation outside Nigeria, and we are truly excited about it.
“Over the past four years, United Nigeria Airlines has built a strong reputation for safety, regulatory compliance, exceptional customer service, and on-time performance — values we are committed to extending across all regional and international routes, Okonkwo said.
He added that the new route would enhance travel options for both business and leisure passengers, while also showcasing Nigeria’s aviation capacity and commitment to regional partnership.
According to him, with United Nigeria Airlines’ flight to Accra, the airline is expanding travel options for the flying public and also flying the Nigerian flag across West Africa.
“Our mission is to unite — uniting people, cultures, and dreams while bridging the gap in connectivity through efficient flight operations,” he added.
Tickets for the Lagos–Accra–Lagos and Abuja–Accra–Abuja routes are now available for purchase on the airline’s official booking portal and through accredited travel agents.
United Nigeria Airlines also disclosed that more domestic routes were expected to commence in November, including services from Abuja to Sokoto.
