Caleb University wins best private university in Nigeria

Caleb University, Imota, Lagos has been adjudged the best private university in Nigeria at the African Education Monitor Magazine Awards held in Lagos.

This is coming as the university recently won the ‘Living Legacy Platinum-Gold Award for Outstanding Innovations, Youth Development and Social Impact’, by the Lagos-Ikeja City Awards 2024.


Receiving the latest award on behalf of the institution, the Vice Chancellor, Caleb University, Prof Nosa Owens-Ibie, said that the institution is driven by the demands of industry with strong professional affiliation and full accreditations, aside enjoying significant investors’ confidence.

The theme of this year’s award was ‘Sustainable Development Goals in Education in Nigeria: Progress and Challenges’.

He disclosed that Caleb University is the first private university in Nigeria to host the secretariat of the Nigerian Association of Architecture Students and would be hosting its annual convention from June 9.

He revealed that the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria recently approved the institution’s Nursing Science programme, now in its first session.

According to him, “The annual awards are given to schools that demonstrate exceptional commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and community engagement.”
