Cardoso to give keynote at NES lecture

All is set for the public lecture of the Nigerian Economic Society (NES) to be held at the University of Ibadan, Ibadan, Oyo state. The programme, which will take place on February 22, 2024, is themed, ‘Recent Developments in the Foreign Exchange Market: Issues, Options and Way Forward’.

The Central Bank of Nigeria Governor, Yemi Cardoso, is expected to give the keynote address while Prof. Antoine Simbine, who is the Director-General of the Nigerian Institute of Social and Economic Research (NISER), will chair the event.

According to a release by the President of NES, Professor Adeola Adenikinju, the University of Ibadan Vice Chancellor, Prof. Kayode Adebowale, is the chief host.

The public lecture will be delivered by Prof. Sam Olofin, a Princeton-trained professor of macroeconomics and development economics. Bismarck Rewane, a highly regarded public policy analyst and the Special Adviser to the President, Economic Matters, Dr Tope Fasua, are the discussants.
