The Parish Priest of St. Theresa Catholic Church, Nguru, Ngor Okpala Local Council of Imo State, Rev. Fr. Declan Enyinna Buchi Oguorji has called on Nigerians, irrespective of their creed, to repent from their sins and do good.

Speaking at the funeral service organised in honour of the late Mrs. Rose Eke (Nee Irekamba), who died on November 26, 2021, Rev. Oguorji reminded Christians that the flesh is only interested in pleasure and material things, adding that Nigerians should depend on God, worship Him for His honour, and not depend on miracles.

Rev. Oguorji noted that the late Mrs. Eke did her best while alive.

He said: “Sister Rose was a humble and calm woman. She played exemplary roles among Christian Women groups as a Christian mother. She was sincere and we are hopeful she will be among the saints in heaven.”

Her husband, Mr. Livinus Eke, who spoke glowingly about his late wife of over 50 years in marriage, said, “My wife was a gift from God. Our marriage was heaven-made, we lived like brother and sister. Her brief illness and eventual death has thought me something I never knew about life, but as a Christian who am I to question our creator. I have taken everything as God’s will and may her soul find rest in the bosom of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The 67-year-old Mrs. Rose Eke was interred at her husband’s compound in Egbelu Nguru in Ngor Okpala Local Council of Imo State, on February 11, 2022.
