Celebrity Global Mega Fight Concert debuts in Lagos

The maiden Celebrity Mega Fight Concert will hold in Lagos from November 29 to December 1, the organisers have said. According to the promoters, Diamond Superstar Promotions (DSP), the concert is part of efforts to discover talents among celebrities, combines sports with entertainment, with outstanding performers in different categories set to win car and cash prizes prices.

The concert will feature professional boxing and wrestling bouts, as well as singing, comedy, beauty pageant, culture and tourism expositions, among other events, the organisers said.

Speaking at the media unveiling of the concert on Thursday, DSP’s Managing Director, Loveth Petra-Ekufu, a two-time Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) World champion, said the event aimed to discover aspiring artists and athletes and offers them a platform to launch their careers through sponsorship and guidance.

She said: “This event signifies a dedication to promoting grassroots sports and entertainment, fostering community engagement and providing a positive outlet for creative expression.”

The U.S.-based star, fondly known as the Nigerian terminator, said the concert is an inclusive avenue designed to unite the world through entertainment and sports, with both top and amateur celebrities, superstars and sports enthusiasts across countries and continents coming together to showcase and nurture their untapped talents while connecting with their fans.

She said the DSP Celebrity Global Mega Fight Concert debuted earlier this year in Abuja, with Laide Bakare and Chizzy Alichi as top performers in a women celebrity boxing match, while Reekado Agbor and Kelvin Ikeduba, among others, featured in the men’s category.

“What we did in Abuja is a fraction of what we are about to pull up in Lagos,” Patra-Ekufu said, adding, “we’ll create an unforgettable experience for all participants and spectators.

“This event promises to be a landmark occasion, fostering athletic competition, artistic expression and a spirit of global unity.”
