The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Enugu Rangers, Amobi Ezeaku, is over the moon after making his competitive debut for the Nigerian club.

Ezeaku played his first Nigerian Premier Football League (NPFL) game for Rangers on Sunday in a 2-0 away win over Niger Tornadoes in Kaduna.

The win was Rangers’ fifth in a row in the NPFL and Ezeaku was elated about his debut for the club he leads in the boardroom.

“I woke up in tears. Fulfilled. This means a lot to me. To wear the badge of this great Club,” the young CEO wrote on X.

“To fight for this badge and the people who love this. To fight for our Ancestors and protection of our history.”

Ezeaku added that he was born loving football and Rangers. He stated that he will die loving this game and the club where he is the CEO.

“This is beyond the game. This is more than the game. This is my life. We are Rangers International F.C of Enugu,” he added.

Ezeaku, who is also a lawyer, was appointed as the CEO of Rangers in August 2023 following his return to Nigeria after completing his FIFA master’s programme in Europe.

He has UEFA and FIFA Masters certificates in club management and was the club’s team manager when Rangers won the NPFL title and FA Cup in 2016 and 2018.

Ezeaku is also a former Transfer Matching System Manager at Rangers and is the youngest administrator to win the NPFL title.

Meanwhile, Rangers continued their spell of good form on Sunday at the Ahmadu Bello Stadium in Kaduna as they ran away with a 2-0 victory over Tornadoes.

Coming on the back of their 1-0 victory over Remo Stars last week, the South-East team wasted no time in showing their class to Tornadoes with Chidiebere Nwobodo scoring on 22 minutes to make their dominance count.

Three minutes later, they completely silenced the home crowd as Godwin Obaje struck to give Rangers a comfortable two-goal lead which they maintained until the end of the match.
