Chinese Community makes donations to Bethesda Home, low-Income families

The Chinese Community in Nigeria has donated essential items to Bethesda Home for the Blind in Lagos and other low-income earners.

The items include: food items, toiletries and other household supplies.

They also extended their supports to low-income families in Ikorodu as part of their ongoing commitment to helping those in need.

One of the beneficiaries, Mrs Funmilayo Olowokere, received food items and a sum of 100,000 naira to support her business.

This came after the community sponsored the surgery of her eight-year-old son, Israel Olowokere, who suffered from cataracts.

Leader of the Chinese Community delegation, Dr. Eric Ni, said: “This action of giving is not a singular event but a regular practice. We believe in supporting the less-privileged in the society and we have consistently demonstrated our commitment to making a positive impact in the lives of others.”

Director of Bethesda Home for the Blind, Mrs Chioma Ohakwe, expressed gratitude to the Community for their supports.

She also acknowledged the Chinese Community’s regular contributions, emphasised the impact it has had on improving the lives of the residents at the home.

Meanwhile, the delegation visited the palace of the Obateru of Egbin Kingdom in Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Abdul-Akeem Adeoriyomi Oyebo, to pay homage to the Royal Majesty.
