According to the transport company, winners of the raffle, which would be drawn in three phases in Lagos, Owerri and Abuja, would be helped to acquire valid international passports, secure visas, accommodation return tickets to Brazil and taken to tourist centres in the south American country.
Speaking on the promo in Lagos yesterday, Mr. Moses Chukwuka, who is the special assistant to the chairman of Chisco Transport Limited, Dr. Chidi Anyaegbu, the “raffle ticket, which costs N200, could be obtained from any of our stations across the country by any interested person resident in Nigeria.
He disclosed, “Those, who travel with our buses from Thursday, October 22 automatically qualify for the raffle, just as anybody that sends his parcel through our courier service.
“Winners will emerge through the draws and there is no discrimination. This promo is being supervised by the National Lottery body to ensure that everything works out well.”
Also explaining the concept, one of the facilitators of the promo, Isaac O. Isaac, said Chisco instituted the project as part of its social responsibility programmes, adding, “ the first draw will hold in Lagos this year with three winners emerging from the state, the second in Owerri in March, where another three winners will emerge, while the grand draw in Abuja in June, 2016 will produce four winners.”
Earlier, in his address, NOC Secretary General, Tunde Popoola, thanked Chisco for coming to the aid of the committee, pledging that the body will drive the promo to ensure sports loving Nigerians benefitted from it.
“We made a call to the public to support us and Chisco is one of the first respondents to that call. Coming eight months before the Olympics shows that the company wants Nigeria to succeed in Brazil and we are grateful to them.”
