Church celebrates Odii, launches book

It was a moment of sober reflection, as members of the Assemblies of God Church (AGC), Itedo Lekki, organised a farewell service for Reverend Okereke Odii, and also launched his second book titled, “The Story Behind The Glory.”

Odii who for 25 years grew the church’s membership from zero to over 350 will now oversee AGC, Addo, under the Addo Section of the church.

The District Superintendent (DS) of AGC, Lekki District, Rev. Sunday Brodrick described the transferred minister as prayerful, humble, teachable and one who treats members like his children.

Commenting on youth and leadership, Brodrick called on church leaders and caregivers across the country to be patient with the youth and urged organisations, including the church, to help empower the youth with skills in entrepreneurship and financial startups to enable them start their businesses and be employers of labour. He noted that doing this would lessen crime in the society and youth restiveness.

The DS also called on the rich to award scholarships to brilliant and indigent students to enable them to further their education.

Advising Nigerians on the need to cast their votes in the forthcoming election, the DS called on voters to be mindful of whom they would vote for in the presidential poll, saying that such a candidate must not be an ethnic bigot, must be competent, and has a track record of integrity.

Speaking on his new book, Odii said the book captures his ministerial journey from the beginning to date.

For his wife, Pastor Mercy Okereke Odii: “It is God’s grace that has made us to be persistent in the ministry, despite challenges spanning 25 years. When you persevere, you will get results. If you have a target, a focus, and a mandate and remain consistent, you will come out strong.’’
