The Chartered Institute of Directors of Nigeria (CIoD) Nigeria has eulogised the life of its past President, Emmanuel Ijewere, for his great impact on the country, as well as dedication to professionalism and ethical business practice.

In a special session of the governing council held in the honour of the late president at the institute’s secretariat, in Lagos, members paid tributes to Ijewere.

President and Chairman of the Governing Council, Tijjani Borodo, said Ijewere, who was the institute’s sixth president, improved the corporate visibility of the institute, putting it on a deserving pedestal as the premier membership organisation in Nigeria.

He said it was under his leadership that the headquarters of the institute moved to Ikoyi, in Lagos, where it is still located currently. Borodo said Ijewere’s passion and selfless service to the CIoD Nigeria was unparalleled.

According to him, his commitment to the ethos of the institute was an inspiration to members. Borodo added that the institute would continue to cherish his selfless services and commitment to the cause of the institute.

A representative and son in the family, Emmanuel Ijewere (Junior), commended the CIoD for honouring his late father and his immense contribution to the growth of the institute.
