After being propelled to global success in 2021 on TikTok, CKay’s ‘Love Nwantiti’ has become one of Afrobeats’ biggest tracks, taking Nigerian music to new heights.

The hit track, which first released in 2019 as the lead track of CKay’s EP ‘CKay The First,’ has now achieved 8 times platinum certification by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) in the United States.

‘Love Nwantiti’ continues to extend its record as the most certified Nigerian song in the US. It peaked at No. 26 on the Billboard Hot 100.

January 2022, the song went platinum just months after going viral on TikTok. It was declared RIAA 2 times platinum in September of that year and by January 2023, the certification reached four times platinum.

With its continuous success, ‘Love Nwantiti’ is now marked by its 8X platinum plaque. As it gets closer to reaching 10X platinum, it could become Afrobeats’ first RIAA diamond song.

Ckay’s debut EP, “Who the F*ck is CKay?”, was released in 2017. However, CKay gained global recognition with his second EP, “CKay the First”, which featured the hit single “Love Nwantiti”. The song topped charts across Europe, Australia, Latin America, and New Zealand. It reached No. 26 on the US Billboard Hot 100 and even appeared on the Canadian Hot 100.
