Classy in Hollandais

Hollandais

It is a known fact that Hollandais, a 100 percent cotton yarn Dutch wax, adopted as one of Africa’s top grade traditional fabrics particularly Nigeria, is a centerpiece for women of class and style, old or young.

Cherished for its versatility and design varieties, this Dutch wax has been a huge symbol of Nigerian identity especially women from the southeastern and south-south, as this fabric is at the top list of every new bride box item. The husband-to-be and his family would not be given a pass if a reasonable number of Hollandais wax is not procured for the bride. Also, the women from these ethnicities find a sense of pride and fulfillment when they have to dress up wearing the beautifully styled Hollandis wax to prominent traditional occasions.

However, over time the fabric became more of a symbol of quality and style for every Nigerian who wants class and elegance beyond the ethnic and cultural love for Hollandais wax. Whether it’s Igbo, Hausa or Yoruba, everyone who knows the importance of quality for class and elegance have come to terms with the fact that Hollandis make the top list in designing.
Styling Hollandais

Traditionally women used to restrict the styling of this multiple design and colour fabric to double wrapper with a blouse, but in recent time, they now have their designers creatively come up with beautiful contemporary styles such as long and short gown, ball gown, skirt and blouse, trousers and top or jacket, jumpsuit, etc.

However, when push comes to shove, a traditional south-south and southeast woman still goes all out dressed elegantly in the classic Hollandais two wrappers.
