Cleric seeks divine intervention amid Nigeria’s economic hardship

Adewale Giwa

The Senior Pastor of the Awaiting the Second Coming of Christ Ministry, Adewale Giwa, has appealed to politicians to extend helping hands to Nigerians grappling with the biting economic challenges in the country.

Giwa urged Nigerians to seek divine intervention from God by overcoming what he described as the multifaceted trials confronting the country.

The pastor, who disclosed this in Akure, Ondo State capital, maintained that one of the ways the underprivileged can surmount the current economic hardship is for everyone to support each other.

He said: “We need to come together and pray as one for our state and country to progress. Nigerians should stay prayerful and move closer to God than before.

“I want to appeal to philanthropists and those who have money to go out there and help those who are poor.

“I also want to appeal to our politicians to help the downtrodden and try to understand that people are suffering. A lot of people are suffering.”

On his part, Olusola Oke, SAN, a prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC), and a close friend of the cleric, emphasised the need for unity in rescuing Ondo State and the country as a whole.

Oke stressed the importance of collaboration between religious leaders, people from diverse backgrounds, and politicians in formulating solutions to the challenges faced by the state and the country.
