Combat dusty wind

As the dry wind from the northeast in the Western Sahara, which ceased in mid January returns, it’s time to take protective hygiene cover for not only your home but also members of the family.

This is because dust particles not only irritate eyes, throat and skin but also have the potential to cause respiratory and cardiovascular health problems.

Also, dust particles reduce indoor air quality due to the presence of dust mites. Although dust mites are invisible to the eyes, they can be found in the areas where dust collects such as surfaces. Unfortunately, some people are allergic to dust mites, which can cause symptoms similar to those of cold, such as runny nose, coughing and sneezing. Aside from the health implications of dust, allowing the particles to stay on surfaces especially in the interior is never a good sight to behold. So with dust, it’s a loss-loss situation, hence the need to tirelessly get rid of the particles from your home, pending when the harmattan weather gives way for the next season.

How To Rid Surfaces Of Dust
. Soft Cloth – Any soft fabric or preferably 100 per cent cotton lightly dampened with water or a furniture dusting spray would capture dust.

. Microfiber Duster – This is an excellent dusting tool that collects and traps dust and dirt. With fabric dusters, if not properly controlled and cleaned or replaced at intervals, rather than take off the dust, they move it from one place to another. But due to the compounds of microfiber which contain high strength properties that are very soft, have luxurious hand with a silken or suede touch, extreme drapability, ultra-fine linear density, the dust is completely removed.

. Electrostatic Duster – This is a cleaning device derived from naturally occurring ostrich feathers to effectively get rid of dust with the science of static electricity to pick up more dust particles.
