CORBON establishes diaspora network, commits to professional development

The Council of Registered Builders of Nigeria (CORBON) has inaugurated its diaspora network called, CORBON Diaspora Network (CDN) to boost interaction with members, increase knowledge sharing and professional development.


Speaking at the inauguration held virtually, CORBON Chairman, Dr Samson Opaluwah, disclosed that the network is a platform for registered builders resident outside Nigeria, aimed to provide builders with support and linkage opportunities with CORBON towards the development of the profession, the council, as well as registered builders at large.

Opaluwah noted that the move is historic in the history of the profession and appreciated members for accepting to partner in discharging such important ideals with the Council.

He urged members to establish a channel of communication between the CDN and CORBON for the development of the profession under the Builders’ Registration Act CAP B13 LFN of 2004 and establish strong partnerships with similar establishments internationally subject to the approval of the Council.

In a remark, a member of the network, Prof Abimbola Windapo, commended the council for its continuous efforts in ensuring that registered builders are well recognised and have strong global connections. She assured the council of their readiness to carry out all responsibilities assigned to them.

The virtual inauguration attracted the Registrar & Secretary to CORBON council, Mr Adetunji Adeniran, council members such as Kennedy Aimiuwu.

Others are Alhassan Marke, past president, Nigerian lnstitute of Building (NIOB), Kenneth Nduka, NIOB President, Alderton Ewa, Chairman, Association of Builders in Academia, Prof A. Raheem.
